Weekend warrior fitness at Crunch WeHo where workouts are fun with benefits

My favorite place to workout on weekends or any day

It’s Sunday morning July 17 and I'm off for some weekend warrior workouts at Crunch in WeHo—a branch of the wackiest results-oriented fitness clubs in America. Members arrived early for the 8 a.m. class eager to ensure the perfect spot in front of the mirror and instructor for the intense half-hour of ab-centric floor work and power stretching. Many hang around for other weekend workouts such as The Ride a spinning class that gets the heart pumping and the adrenalin flowing.

You can spend the whole day at this West Hollywood workout emporium on Sunset Boulevard taking  classes created for fun while they trim, tone and motivate the mojo. There is also two floors filled with equipment from ellipticals  and treadmills, weight machines, free weights (which have a sign over them that says, “Look what’s free,” fitballs, dumb bells  ropes and more. And then you can relax in a steam or sauna. There is no pool or Jacuzzi at Crunch just solid, no frills, no judgments, no attitude

healthy options to keep you in top shape.
Tomorrow, Sunday members can start the day sweating it out with Powerwave Battle Roping an extreme workout for the whole body that really gets down to brass butts. There’s also The Ride,  yoga and a sculpting class called Chisel.

Come Monday morning you’ve got Diesel, an interval training class that gets you reved up for the work week., or you can take The Ride, Tread ‘N Shed (which Crunch describes as a badass  killer cardio class) and about  18 other options ending at 9 p.m. with X-Pole Dancing that really ramps up the mojo, is fun to do and watch and can be replayed in the boudoir should you be so inclined.

Tuesday through Friday has similar offerings that also include various classes that target abs, lower body and even your hip hop dancing ability in a session called Videography where you can fantasize that  you’re dancing with the stars.

While Los Angeles is sated with fitness studios, clubs and personal trainers dedicated to keeping residents trim and shapely, Crunch  is where members also go who want to have fun.  And while we don’t know the statistics we do know that many people who join gyms  give it up after a few visits while Crunch appears to maintain its membership.
Crunch is located at 8000 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, 323-654-4550. If you go on line you will find free trial offers, which we highly recommend so you can test it out before you plunk down the fee.
